Jones began her career in the NCAA as one of the top hurdlers. She was the winner of the 100-meter hurdle in 2002 at the NCAA Track & Field Championship. Also, she participated on the runner up team for 100-meter relay. Jones was the winner of the NCAA Indoor Hurdles contest in the years 2003 and the 2004. The track career after she completed her studies at the end of 2005 Jones began training hard in pursuit of an athletic career in track. Jones won Torino Memorial in 2005, and also Ostrava and Heusden track events in the next year.

Brandt is a child of the Cape Town region. She grew up in Cape Town South Africa with her parents and siblings, immigrated from Cape Town South Africa to Auckland New Zealand when she was in her teens. Brandt was spotted locally by casting directors. She was then offered the lead role as Naevia as a character in the Starz hit show Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena. In collaboration with the producers Steven S. D Knight and Sam Raimi she captivated audiences by her acting and was one of the show's most memorable stars. Mazikeen, a fan-favorite Vertigo/DC comic book character and the Vertigo/DC show Lucifer played her part in the cult Netflix show. Forbes acknowledged Lucifer in 2021 as a show with the most amount of viewers who binge watched. Brandt will next be seen with Andrew Lincoln in the limited Walking Dead 6 episode spin-off airing in 2024. Lesley Brandt moved along with her entire family to Auckland New Zealand in 1999. In Auckland Brandt started out as a salesperson and then was promoted into the role of an IT expert. Lesley began modeling, before deciding to make an appearance in commercials. In 2008 she graduated from her studies and enrolled in Meisner techniques for studying. The first big acting role for Lesley was on New Zealand's TV show Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt appeared in the New Zealand drama Shortland Street, as a visitor supporting role. She then appeared in This Is Not My Life. The show is based on the true story of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt was cast in the Television show Spartacus: Blood and Sand as Naevia who was a teenager hostage. She was later depicted on the Spartacus: Gods of the Arena miniseries.
